ABSTRACT.

Ten years of observation on captive-breeding of Aotus vociferans permits evaluation of wild-caught and captive-born non-human primate populations maintained at the Center for Reproduction and Conservation of Non-Human Primates (CRCP/IVITA), Peruvian Primatological Project. Parameters such as adaptation to captivity, sexual maturity, gestation period, interbirth interval reproductive rates and survival of infants are reported. According to our results adaptation to captivity takes more than two years in average, the youngest age at first birth in captive- born females is 31 months. Under natural photoperiod, temperature and humidity conditions A. vociferans shows a birth peak between December and March. Infant survival rate at one year of age is 76.9%.Key words: Aotus, reproduction, parameters.
